Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response covers the main features of the maps, such as the changes in parking and the addition of roundabouts. However, the description is somewhat fragmented and lacks a clear overview of the most significant changes. While you have identified the key differences, the reporting of specific locations is occasionally imprecise, and the comparison between 2007 and 2010 could be more clearly structured to highlight the transformation of the hospital's infrastructure. To improve, ensure you provide a concise summary of the overall trend in the introduction and group your details more logically to facilitate a clearer comparison.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The essay is organised into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the progression from 2007 to 2010. However, the use of cohesive devices is limited and sometimes mechanical. For instance, the transition between the description of the 2007 map and the 2010 map is abrupt. There is also some repetition of phrasing, such as 'location of parking and bus stations', which makes the flow less natural. To reach a higher band, try to use a wider variety of linking words and phrases to connect your ideas more fluidly and ensure that each paragraph has a clear, unified focus.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

You have used some relevant vocabulary related to the task, such as 'infrastructures', 'roundabouts', and 'congestion'. However, there are several spelling errors, such as 'rong', 'ehrn', 'riad', 'rifght', and 'congewstion', which distract the reader. Additionally, some word choices are slightly awkward, such as 'any major structure was not attached to the rinf road'. To improve, focus on proofreading your work to eliminate basic spelling mistakes and try to incorporate more precise descriptive language to describe spatial relationships and changes in the map features.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

The response contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Examples include 'The maps demonstrates' (subject-verb agreement), 'bus stops were on the both side of road' (article usage), and 'when you take exit' (missing article). While the meaning is generally understandable, the high frequency of errors in basic grammar and punctuation prevents the response from reaching a higher band. Focusing on subject-verb agreement, correct article usage, and consistent verb tense will significantly improve the accuracy of your writing.
