Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0

The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 150 words, which significantly impacts the score. Furthermore, the content is underdeveloped. While you identify some changes, such as the bus station and parking, the description is overly simplistic and lacks the analytical depth required for an Academic Task 1 response. You do not provide a clear overview of the main trends, nor do you use data or specific labels from the maps to support your points. The tone is informal and subjective (e.g., 'that is so impressive'), which is inappropriate for an academic report. To improve, you must describe the spatial changes more objectively and ensure you meet the length requirement.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 4.0

The response lacks a clear structure. It is written as a single, run-on paragraph without logical progression or effective paragraphing. There is a lack of cohesive devices to link ideas; instead, the text relies on repetitive phrases like 'first of all' and 'the second change'. The absence of punctuation makes it difficult to follow the flow of information, and the lack of clear transitions between the 2007 and 2010 maps means the comparison is not well-managed. To improve, you should organize your response into an introduction, an overview, and distinct body paragraphs, using a variety of linking words to connect your observations.

Lexical Resource — Band 4.0

The vocabulary is very limited and repetitive. You rely on basic words like 'change', 'map', and 'parking' throughout the text. There is no attempt to use topic-specific vocabulary related to urban planning or map description (e.g., 'relocated', 'expanded', 'constructed', 'access road'). Additionally, there are numerous spelling errors, such as 'aal', 'impresive', 'diffrent', and 'facillity', which hinder readability. To reach a higher band, you need to expand your range of vocabulary to include more precise terms and ensure accurate spelling.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.0

The grammatical control is weak. The response consists of a series of run-on sentences lacking proper punctuation, such as full stops or commas. There are frequent errors in basic sentence structure, such as 'people not take any taxi' instead of 'people do not need to take taxis'. Subject-verb agreement and article usage are also inconsistent. The response lacks complex sentence structures, relying entirely on simple, poorly constructed clauses. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, including the correct use of tense, articles, and punctuation before attempting more complex grammatical forms.
