Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response covers the main features of the maps, such as the changes to parking and road access. However, the analysis is somewhat superficial and lacks a clear overview of the most significant changes. The description of the 2007 map is brief, and the comparison between the two years could be more precise. While the main points are identified, the response lacks the analytical depth required for a higher band, as it focuses more on describing individual elements rather than synthesizing the overall transformation of the hospital site.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the progression from 2007 to 2010. However, the use of cohesive devices is somewhat mechanical and repetitive (e.g., 'Additionally', 'Moreover', 'In conclusion'). There are also issues with referencing and sentence-level flow, such as the awkward transition in the opening paragraph. While the overall arrangement is coherent, the lack of sophisticated linking words and the somewhat disjointed nature of the sentences limit the score in this category.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is limited and repetitive, relying on basic terms like 'huge', 'changes', and 'convinient'. There are several spelling errors, such as 'illustarate', 'convinient', and 'facilites'. The word choice is often imprecise; for example, using 'convinient' to describe the hospital facilities is not standard academic usage. To improve, you should aim for a wider range of vocabulary related to urban planning and spatial changes, such as 'relocated', 'expanded', 'integrated', or 'infrastructure'.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The response contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Examples include 'There has been huge changes had taken place', 'There was city hospital', and 'two more round about also developed'. The sentence structures are mostly simple, with limited attempts at complex sentences. Subject-verb agreement and article usage are inconsistent throughout the text. While the meaning is generally understandable, the high frequency of errors in basic sentence construction prevents a higher score.
