The two maps below show road access to a city hospital in 2007 and 2010.

Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features and make comparisons wherever relevant.

Student answer (Band 6.0)

The two maps illustrate the changes to road access around a city hospital between 2007 and 2010.

Overall, the area underwent significant development over the period. New facilities were added, existing ones were relocated or expanded, although a few structures retained their original positions.

In 2007, the hospital featured a combined parking area for public and staff members. There was also a ring road around the city hospital to provide access to citizens, and there were six bus stops on the hospital road.

By 2010,several modifications had been made. The public car park shifted to a location adjacent to the city hospital, whereas the staff car park remained in its original spot. In addition, two new roundabouts were constructed one in front of the city hospital, another one on the main city road. The bus stop had been replaced by a single bus station, which was linked to both roundabouts.
