Student answer (Band 6.0)
The two maps illustrate the changes has been done from 2007 to 2010 on the way of city hospital.
Overall, the way to city hospital has considerably modernised, with several new facilities added to easy access to the hopital. While some orginal features such as public car has been replaced or relocated, the area has more focused for making it eassy access to hospital.
In 2007, city hospital was around the ring road and the entrance was on the south-eastern part, where as staff car parking and public car parking were both together on the both side of the hospital road which was on the southern part and a straight way to hospital building.
In 2010, public car parking had been constructed seperate in the eastern part of the hospital, where as staff car park was on the same location as it was in previous arrangements .Moreover, bus station had been manfactured on the west side which could be accessed easily through roundabout circle and provides the path to city road and hospital. In addition, another roundabout was also added that connected city road, hospital road and bus station as well.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
The response covers the main features of the maps, including the addition of the bus station, the new roundabouts, and the relocation of the car parks. You have successfully identified the key changes between 2007 and 2010. However, the overview is slightly vague; instead of saying the area was 'modernised', it would be more effective to highlight the specific shift towards improved traffic flow and infrastructure. The description of the car park locations is clear, but ensure you distinguish more precisely between the 'public' and 'staff' parking areas as they shift in the 2010 map. Overall, the response is well-focused and addresses the prompt effectively.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is logically organised into an introduction, an overview, and two body paragraphs focusing on the two time periods. You use some cohesive devices like 'In 2007', 'In 2010', and 'Moreover' to guide the reader. However, some transitions feel a bit mechanical, and the referencing is occasionally unclear, such as in the phrase 'where as staff car parking and public car parking were both together on the both side of the hospital road'. Improving the flow between sentences would help the text feel more cohesive. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate the different time frames.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You have a sufficient range of vocabulary to describe the maps, such as 'modernised', 'relocated', 'constructed', and 'infrastructure'. However, there are some word choice errors and awkward phrasing, such as 'the way of city hospital' (should be 'access to the city hospital') and 'bus station had been manfactured' (a bus station is 'built' or 'constructed', not 'manufactured'). Spelling errors like 'eassy' and 'seperate' also occur. To reach a higher band, focus on more precise collocations related to urban planning and infrastructure development.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
You attempt a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors, such as 'the changes has been done' (should be 'have been made') and 'the area has more focused for making it eassy access' (should be 'the area has been redesigned to facilitate easier access'). There are also issues with article usage and prepositional phrases. While these errors do not prevent the reader from understanding the main points, they occur frequently enough to limit the score. Focusing on subject-verb agreement and correct verb tenses will significantly improve your accuracy.
