Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response covers the main features of the maps, such as the addition of the public car park, the bus station, and the roundabouts. However, the description is somewhat repetitive and lacks precision in spatial referencing. While the main changes are identified, the overview is slightly underdeveloped and relies on informal phrasing like 'tremendous development'. To reach a higher band, you should focus on grouping information more logically—for instance, by categorizing changes into 'infrastructure for vehicles' and 'facilities for the public'—and ensure that the comparison between 2007 and 2010 is more clearly articulated through precise vocabulary rather than simple chronological listing.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate, such as 'Second one is Front of hospital build two roundabout'. The progression of ideas is sometimes disjointed, particularly within the second paragraph where the transition between the parking and the roundabouts feels abrupt. Referencing is occasionally unclear, making it difficult to track which specific part of the map is being described. Improving the use of linking words and ensuring that each sentence flows naturally from the previous one would significantly enhance the coherence of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is limited and repetitive, often relying on basic verbs like 'made' and 'build'. There are several instances of awkward phrasing, such as 'no have any public spaces' and 'decreasing traffic', which should be 'reducing traffic'. While the vocabulary is sufficient to convey the basic meaning of the task, it lacks the range and precision required for higher bands. You should aim to incorporate more specific terminology related to urban planning and map description, such as 'constructed', 'implemented', 'situated', or 'adjacent to', to demonstrate a more sophisticated command of the language.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains a mix of simple and some attempted complex structures, but grammatical errors are frequent and occasionally impede clarity. Common issues include subject-verb agreement ('They made the two roundabout'), incorrect tense usage ('Initially they build'), and missing articles or prepositions ('hospital was situated in north ring road'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, with some sentences lacking proper capitalization or ending punctuation. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, ensuring consistent verb tenses when describing past events, and paying closer attention to article usage (e.g., 'the' hospital, 'a' roundabout).
