Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response covers the main features of the maps, identifying the key changes such as the introduction of roundabouts, the new bus station, and the separation of parking facilities. However, the description of the locations is sometimes imprecise, making it difficult for the reader to follow the spatial changes. For example, stating that the bus stand is 'infront of public parking' is vague. While the main trends are identified, the report lacks a clear, professional tone and some details are slightly under-developed or confusingly presented, which prevents it from reaching a higher band.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the progression from 2007 to 2010. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate. Phrases like 'while have same parking' and 'An other major change had build' disrupt the flow of ideas. The referencing is sometimes unclear, particularly when describing the spatial layout of the new parking and bus station. The logical progression is present, but the lack of sophisticated linking words and the frequent errors in sentence structure make the overall coherence feel somewhat disjointed.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is adequate for the task but remains quite basic and repetitive. There are several instances of incorrect word forms or inappropriate word choices, such as 'significantly improvement' instead of 'significant improvement' and 'sperate' (spelling error). The student relies on simple descriptors and struggles to use precise terminology for map features. To improve, the student should focus on using more varied vocabulary related to spatial description and change, such as 'relocated,' 'transformed,' or 'adjacent to,' rather than relying on basic directional language.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The response contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede readability. There are persistent issues with verb tenses (e.g., 'had build' instead of 'was built'), subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'Hospital are surrounding'), and article usage. Sentence structures are mostly simple, and attempts at more complex sentences often result in errors, such as 'that can cause remove direct access.' While the meaning is generally understandable, the high frequency of errors in basic grammar limits the score. More attention to sentence construction and proofreading for basic tense consistency is required.
