IELTS Writing Task 1 question

The two maps below show road access to a city hospital in 2007 and 2010.

Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features and make comparisons wherever relevant.

Student answer (Band 6.0)

The map diagram illustrates the advancements done around the city hospital from 2007 to 2010. Overall, several transformations have been done, although the city hospital, ring road and city road have not been modified.

In 2007, the city hospital had a southern directed gate, opening to parking area for staff and public. Conversely in 2010, the city hospital has one more additional gate located at eastern side, opening to public car park; whereas southern parking plot is for the staff members. Moreover, a bus station is also constructed on the opposite side of the hospital road in 2010.

The bus stop in 2007 is transformed in a roundabout area in 2010. Additionally, huge round roads are built on each side of hospital road. Thus, there have been major alterations done about parking areas and adding a bus station, thus modernising the hospital for patients and
