Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.0

The response effectively covers all key features of the maps. You have successfully identified the main changes, such as the addition of roundabouts, the new bus station, and the separation of car parks. The overview is clear and provides a good summary of the developments. The information is accurately reported and comparisons are made between the two years. To reach a higher band, ensure that the overview is more concise and avoids minor grammatical awkwardness, such as in the second sentence where the phrasing 'developed more infrastructures making developed' is unclear. Overall, the response is well-structured and addresses the prompt comprehensively.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 7.5

The response is logically organized, with a clear introduction, an overview, and two body paragraphs detailing the specific changes. The progression of ideas is smooth, moving from the 2007 layout to the 2010 modifications. Cohesive devices such as 'By 2010', 'The former', and 'while' are used effectively to link information. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate the time periods. The referencing is generally clear, although the transition between the overview and the first body paragraph could be slightly more refined to improve the flow. Overall, the text is easy to follow and coherent.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.5

You demonstrate a sufficient range of vocabulary to describe the changes, using terms like 'infrastructure', 'layout', 'junction', and 'constructed'. There is an awareness of collocation, such as 'road layout had changed considerably'. However, there are some minor inaccuracies and awkward phrasing, such as 'changes of road' instead of 'changes to the road network' and 'was access from' instead of 'was accessed from'. These errors do not impede communication, but they prevent the response from reaching the highest band. Expanding your range of precise verbs and nouns related to urban planning would further enhance your score.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.5

The response uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There is good control over basic grammar, and most sentences are clear. However, there are occasional errors, such as 'the changes of road around the hospital and developed more infrastructures making developed', which is grammatically disjointed. Additionally, 'was access from' should be 'was accessed from'. While these errors are present, they are not frequent enough to impede understanding. To improve, focus on ensuring subject-verb agreement and refining the structure of complex sentences to ensure they are grammatically sound.
