Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response identifies the main features, such as the relocation of the bus stops and the separation of parking facilities. However, the analysis is somewhat superficial. The description of the roundabout changes is unclear, and the response includes irrelevant commentary about 'economic betterment' and 'city livelihood,' which is not required for an Academic Task 1 report. An IELTS report should remain objective and focus strictly on the data presented in the diagrams rather than speculating on the social or economic necessity of the changes.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the flow between ideas is sometimes mechanical. The use of cohesive devices is limited, and some sentences are disjointed, particularly in the second paragraph where the transition from describing the parking to the roundabout is abrupt. The concluding paragraph introduces subjective opinions rather than summarizing the visual data, which disrupts the logical progression expected in a formal report.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is generally adequate to convey the basic meaning, but it lacks the precision required for a higher band. Phrases like 'make people more ease' and 'get rid more traffic' are unnatural and imprecise. There is a reliance on simple, repetitive language. To improve, you should use more specific terminology related to urban planning, such as 'relocated,' 'designated,' 'segregated,' or 'infrastructure,' and ensure that collocations are accurate.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The response contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. For example, 'bus stop which is located both side of hospital road' lacks proper articles and pluralization. There are also issues with word order and preposition usage, such as 'moved towards of becoming.' While the meaning is generally understandable, the frequency of these errors prevents the writing from reaching a higher band level.
