Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response attempts to describe the changes between the two maps, but the information is presented in a confusing and often inaccurate manner. While you identify some features like the roundabout and car parks, the description of their locations and the changes over time is difficult to follow. The overview is weak and does not clearly highlight the main trends, such as the expansion of road access and the relocation of facilities. To improve, focus on grouping information logically—for example, describing the road network changes separately from the facility relocations—and ensure that your descriptions of spatial relationships are precise and based clearly on the provided visual data.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay lacks a clear logical progression. While there is an attempt at paragraphing, the sentences within the paragraphs are disjointed and often repetitive, such as the repeated mention of the staff car park. Cohesive devices are either missing or used incorrectly, making it difficult for the reader to follow the sequence of events. The transition between the 2007 and 2010 data is not clearly marked, which is essential for a task comparing two points in time. Using clearer signposting language (e.g., 'In contrast,' 'Subsequently,' 'Furthermore') would significantly improve the flow and readability of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is quite limited and repetitive, with several spelling errors (e.g., 'moderanside', 'wst', 'buust', 'rndabout', 'ppose'). You rely on basic terms and struggle to describe the features of the maps accurately. There is a lack of precise terminology related to maps and urban planning, such as 'intersection,' 'relocated,' 'adjacent to,' or 'infrastructure.' To reach a higher band, you need to expand your range of vocabulary and ensure that you are using words correctly in context. Proofreading for spelling and word choice is essential, as the current errors occasionally impede the reader's understanding of the intended meaning.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The response contains frequent grammatical errors that often obscure the meaning. There are issues with sentence structure, such as run-on sentences and fragments, as well as errors in subject-verb agreement and preposition usage (e.g., 'the staff car is divided', 'straightforward connect to hospital rounoabo'). The range of structures is very limited, consisting mostly of simple, poorly constructed sentences. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction and ensuring that your verbs and nouns agree. Practice using complex sentences with subordinating conjunctions to add variety, but ensure they are grammatically sound before attempting more advanced structures.
