Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features and make comparisons wherever relevant.
Student answer (Band 5.5)
The two layout illustrate the ways for accessibility to the capital hospital between different time periods of 2007 and 2010.
Overall, there are some changes in 2010 layout rather than 2007. In 2007 where the plan shows limited services while 2010 plan make it vast for overall use.
In 2007, Car park for staff and public was adjusted beside the hospital road also all around of this road was covered by the bus stop. More ever, The ring road covered every side of the hospital.
On the other hand, few new services added in the 2010 maps. Two roundabout added front and back side of the hospital road also added a new place for bus station which directly connected to the roundabout so that peoples directly enter or exit to the hospital from bus station. Therefore, two separate car park added for the public and the staff. The car park for the staff remains in the same place while for public parking area situated in the east side of the hospital behind the ring road.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response covers the main features of the maps, such as the addition of roundabouts, the new bus station, and the changes to car parking. However, the description is somewhat imprecise. For instance, stating that 'all around of this road was covered by the bus stop' in 2007 is not entirely accurate based on the visual data. While the main changes are identified, the comparison between the two years could be more analytical. The overview is present but lacks a clear summary of the most significant transformation, which is the improved traffic flow and infrastructure. The response addresses the task requirements but lacks the level of detail and precision needed for a higher band.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The response is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the information. However, the use of cohesive devices is sometimes mechanical or awkward, such as 'More ever' (which is a spelling error) and 'Therefore' used to introduce a description of car parks rather than a logical consequence. The progression of ideas is generally clear, but the referencing is occasionally confusing, particularly when describing the location of the new car parks. The transition between the 2007 and 2010 descriptions is functional, but the overall flow would benefit from more sophisticated linking words and better control over paragraph structure.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is adequate for the task but lacks variety and precision. There are several instances of awkward phrasing, such as 'make it vast for overall use' and 'peoples directly enter'. The student relies on basic descriptors and struggles with accurate collocations, such as 'adjusted beside' or 'two roundabout added'. While the meaning is generally conveyed, the range of vocabulary is limited, and there are errors in word choice that occasionally distract the reader. To improve, the student should focus on using more precise terminology related to maps and urban planning, such as 'constructed', 'relocated', or 'integrated'.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The response contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors. Examples include 'The two layout illustrate' (subject-verb agreement), 'Two roundabout added' (missing auxiliary verb), and 'peoples' (incorrect pluralization). Punctuation is also inconsistent, with missing commas and incorrect capitalization in the middle of sentences. While the errors do not completely impede communication, they are frequent enough to be noticeable. The student needs to focus on basic sentence construction, subject-verb agreement, and the correct use of passive voice, which is essential for describing map changes.
