The two maps below show road access to a city hospital in 2007 and 2010.
Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features and make comparisons wherever relevant.
Student answer (Band 7.0)
The map diagrams illustrate a structural modifications to a road layout having access to a city hospital in 2007 and 2010.
Overall, the roads and parking area have undergone significant redevelopment. Traditional combined car park for both staff and public has been allocated into distinct parking, while a dedicated place for bus station has been introduced.
Before revamping, the city hospital was surrounded by the ring road, the road leading towards the city hospital was named as the hospital road, with bus stop on either side of that road. There was a combined car parking area for staff and public on the east-west corner of the map. The main road was the city road, with junction leading to the hospital road.
After revamping in 2010, Although the ring road still surrounds the city road, a distinct space has been allocated to the public car park on the north-east corner of the hospital. Notably, two roundabouts have been constructed, one on the city road while other on the ring road, ensuring a smoot flow of traffic. A bus station has been made on the south-west corner, with two paths leading towards roundabouts. One feature that has remained the same is the parking for staff.
