Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features and make comparisons wherever relevant.
Student answer (Band 6.0)
The two diagrams illustrates a map which highlights the accessibility of road to a city hospital in 20017 and 2010.
Overall, a drastic change can be observed in the infrastructure of roads as public car park and staff car park have been separated and a bus station has also been added by removing all the bus stops along the hospital road.
Detailed analysis of the diagrams showcases an area made made for public car parking at the north-east part of the map 2010 as there were no such area in 2007. So, the staff parking and public parking were same in 2007 .There were 6 different bus stops along the hospital road in 2007 but they have been completely removed a replaced by a bus station at the south-western area of the map.
Furthermore, two roundabouts have been constructed along the hospital road which makes it easier and more safer to drive. The ring road remains the same expect for an opening for the public car park.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response covers the main features of the maps, including the separation of car parks, the addition of the bus station, and the construction of roundabouts. The overview is clear and highlights the most significant changes. However, there are some minor inaccuracies in the data reporting; for instance, the text mentions '20017' instead of 2007, and the claim that 'staff parking and public parking were same in 2007' is a slight oversimplification of the visual data. Despite these minor issues, the response successfully identifies the key trends and provides a logical summary of the changes over the three-year period.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The response is logically organized into an introduction, an overview, and two body paragraphs. The progression of ideas is clear, moving from general changes to specific details. Cohesive devices such as 'Furthermore' and 'Overall' are used effectively to link ideas. However, some transitions are slightly mechanical, and the referencing could be more precise in places. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate the different aspects of the map changes, which helps the reader follow the development of the information.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, with some attempts at more specific terminology like 'infrastructure', 'accessibility', and 'constructed'. There are some minor errors in word choice and phrasing, such as 'made made' (repetition) and 'more safer' (incorrect comparative structure). While the range is sufficient to convey the meaning clearly, it lacks the sophistication and precision required for a higher band score. The use of 'drastic change' is a good collocation, but overall, the lexical range remains somewhat limited.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The response uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There are several grammatical errors, such as 'The two diagrams illustrates' (subject-verb agreement), 'more safer' (double comparative), and 'expect for' (likely a typo for 'except'). Punctuation is generally functional, though there are some minor issues with spacing and capitalization. While these errors do not impede communication, they occur frequently enough to prevent a higher score. A greater variety of error-free complex structures would be needed to reach the band 7 level.
