IELTS Writing Task 1 question

The two maps below show road access to a city hospital in 2007 and 2010.

Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features and make comparisons wherever relevant.

Student answer (Band 6.0)

The diagrams represent the layout of a city hospital and its evolution from 2007 to 2010. While some areas were remodeled into others, overall, the city hospital greatly expanded its facilities.

Directly east of the city hospital, a public car park was introduced that connects to the hospital. Additionally, the hospital road leading to the city hospital was reconstructed. Instead of a straight insterction from city road to hospital road, the path is made circular. The other end of the road that connects to the hospital is receieved the same modification. A path leading from both ends of the circular path is connected to a newly constructed bus station which lie to the left of the hospital road.

Moreover, the public and staff car park that used to lie at the right hand side of the hospital road has been changed to a staff only parking lot. Finally, The bus stop that lie at the eastern end of the map was replaced by a roundabout.
