Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response covers the main features of the maps, such as the introduction of the roundabout and the changes to car parking. However, the description is somewhat repetitive and lacks precision in spatial referencing. For instance, describing the bus stop as being in the 'eastern place' is vague. While the main trends are identified, the comparison between the two years could be more effectively integrated rather than listing features separately. The overview is present but could be more analytical regarding the overall layout changes. To reach a higher band, ensure that all key features are clearly highlighted and compared with greater accuracy.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is somewhat mechanical and occasionally inaccurate, such as the transition 'In addition,a roundabout was introduced while bus stop was removed.' The referencing is sometimes unclear, making it difficult to track which specific area is being discussed. While there is an overall progression, the flow between sentences is occasionally disjointed. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring clear pronoun referencing would enhance the logical flow of the response.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is adequate for the task but lacks the precision and range required for a higher band. There are several instances of awkward phrasing and incorrect word choices, such as 'became more development' instead of 'developed' and 'eastern place of hospital' instead of 'eastern side of the hospital'. The repetition of words like 'build' and 'structure' limits the lexical variety. To improve, focus on using more precise collocations and varied terminology to describe changes, such as 'transformed', 'relocated', or 'expanded'.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The response contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Examples include 'This map show 2007 in hospital building there are build in very simple' and 'the eastern area and southern area was developed'. Subject-verb agreement and tense consistency are problematic throughout the text. While the meaning is generally understandable, the high frequency of errors in basic sentence construction prevents the response from reaching a higher band. Focusing on subject-verb agreement and correct verb forms will significantly improve the quality of the writing.
