IELTS Writing Task 1 question

The two maps below show road access to a city hospital in 2007 and 2010.

Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features and make comparisons wherever relevant.

Student answer (Band 6.5)

The layouts illustrate how a city hospital's transportation network transformed from 2007 to 2010. Overall, it is clear that two roundabouts and a bus station were introdcuced. Moreover, a new parking space was created for public only to the east of the city hospital.

Looking at the previous road accessibility, the layout of the city hospital was simple in 2007. To reach the city hospital, people needed to go from the city road to the north side which is the hospital road, along with the hospital road, there were space for parking for both public and staffs. Moreover, the city hospital were coverd by ring road.

In 2010, the city hospital transformed its road accessibility significantly. A new rounabout was introduced at the junction of hospital road and city road to direct vehicles thoroughly. From this roundabout a path lead to a new bus station where buses can be parked. Another roundabout was created in front of the hospital where cars can round the hospital through the ring road. Parking spaces were separated, east side of the hospital road for staff only and the east of the hospital which can be accessed through the roundabout in fornt of the hospital for public.
