The diagrams given below displays the road access to a city hospital in years 2007 and 2010.

Overall, the structure of map has been drastically changed since 2007 and has gone through several developments like adding public car parking area, installed roundabouts for efficient traffic control, removed bus stops and etc.

Since 2007, the location of city hospital is unchanged but numerous developments took place for making the location traffic free and reliable. Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response identifies the main features, such as the addition of roundabouts and the changes to parking and bus access. However, the response is incomplete; it ends abruptly mid-sentence ('This made the f'), failing to finish the description of the changes or provide a complete summary. While the overview is present, the lack of completion significantly impacts the task achievement. The description of the parking changes is somewhat confusing, and the inclusion of a list of keywords at the end of the text is inappropriate for an IELTS task. To improve, ensure all points are fully developed and the response is concluded properly.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay attempts to use paragraphing, but the structure is undermined by the incomplete nature of the final paragraph. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'Overall' and 'Since 2007', but the flow is disrupted by the abrupt ending and the inclusion of a list of words at the bottom of the text. The referencing is sometimes unclear, particularly when describing the parking areas, which makes the progression of ideas difficult to follow. To reach a higher band, focus on maintaining a logical flow throughout the entire response and ensure that each paragraph is fully developed and connected to the next.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The range of vocabulary is adequate for the task, using terms like 'drastically changed', 'efficient traffic control', and 'initiatives'. However, there are some inaccuracies in word choice and collocation, such as 'the structure of map' (should be 'the map's structure') and 'allocating more number of vehicles' (should be 'accommodating a greater number of vehicles'). The vocabulary is generally functional but lacks the precision and sophistication required for higher bands. Expanding your range of descriptive verbs and nouns related to urban planning would be beneficial.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The response contains a mix of simple and some complex structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors. Examples include 'the diagrams given below displays' (subject-verb agreement error), 'the parking for staff and public has been same' (missing article), and 'two round abouts' (spelling/compounding error). Punctuation is also inconsistent, and the sentence structure becomes fragmented towards the end. While the meaning is generally clear, the frequency of errors is noticeable and occasionally distracts the reader. Focusing on subject-verb agreement and correct article usage will help improve your accuracy.
