Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response covers the main features of the maps, including the changes to road access, the bus station, and the parking facilities. You successfully identified the key developments between 2007 and 2010. However, the description of the parking area is slightly confusing; you mention that the parking for staff and public was separated in 2007, but the map shows a single parking area for both in 2007, which was then split into two distinct areas by 2010. Ensuring your interpretation of the visual data is precise is essential for a higher band score. Overall, the main trends are clearly presented.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is logically organized into an introduction, an overview, and two body paragraphs. You use some cohesive devices such as 'Similarly' and 'Whereas' to link ideas. However, the flow is occasionally hindered by mechanical phrasing, such as 'making it easier to pass vehicle' and 'while making an entrance'. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate the different types of changes. To improve, focus on using a wider variety of linking words and ensuring that referencing (e.g., 'that side') is always clear to the reader.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'redevelopment', 'roundabouts', and 'accessibility'. However, there are several spelling errors, such as 'seperated' (separated), 'praking' (parking), and 'benn' (been). Additionally, some word choices are slightly unnatural, such as 'pass vehicle' instead of 'facilitate traffic flow' or 'the land around hospital' instead of 'the area surrounding the hospital'. Improving your spelling and refining your collocations will help you reach a higher band.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The response uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors, such as 'the land around hospital' (missing article), 'parking area for the staffs' ('staff' is uncountable), and 'the parking area built for both both staffs and public'. These errors, while not impeding communication, occur frequently enough to prevent a higher score. You should focus on subject-verb agreement, the correct use of articles, and proofreading to eliminate minor slips.
