The two maps below show road access to a city hospital in 2007 and 2010.

Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features and make comparisons wherever relevant.

Student answer (Band 6.0)

The two following maps illustrates changes to road access and parking at a city hospital from 2007 and 2010.

Overall, the area was updated with two roundabouts, a bus station, and a separate parking space for staff and the public.

In 2007, Hospital had six bus stops along its sides. By 2010, these were replaced by a bus station on the left side of the the road. Two new roundabouts were build in Hospital Road-one at the junction with city road and another near the ring road to manage traffic.

Parking was also rearranged. The original car park on the right side of the city hospital was used by both the public and staff in the year 2007 but it became a staff only parking area in 2010. A new car parking area was introduced which was on the east side of the hospital which was only for public with direct access from ring road
