The two maps below show road access to a city hospital in 2007 and 2010.
Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features and make comparisons wherever relevant.
Student answer (Band 6.0)
The provided diagrams illustrate the information regarding available roads to reach the city hospital in 2007 and 2010.
Overall, by thoroughly analysing the drawings it was identified that very few facilities were available in 2007, while in 2010 a new bus station, staff parking, and three roundabouts were constructed.
In 2007, the city hospital layout had only one entrance road which connected to city road, and 6 bus stops were provided near the hospital road. In addition, ring road around the hospital was connected to the hospital road and provided entrance from the public and staff parking area.
In 2010, the city hospital area underwent renovation and constructed new facilities. Hospital and ring road were at the same place but one roundabout was constructed on the junction of hospital road. However, public parking and staff parking were separated and shifted to the north near the ring road. In addition, a new bus area allocated near the road with two entrances connected to the roundabout of city road and hospital road.
