IELTS Writing Task 1 question

The two maps below show road access to a city hospital in 2007 and 2010.

Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features and make comparisons wherever relevant.

Student answer (Band 5.5)

The two maps illustrate the modifications done to the entrance of the city hospital in 2007 and 2010.

Overall, there are many modifications done at the entrance of the hospital. Mainly, at the parking is seperated for both staff and public in 2010's map and constructed two roundabouts at the entrace of the hospital.

Looking at the detail, In 2007 the hospital entrance from the city road contains six bus stops, three on both sides of the hospital road and the entrance is from southern direction. On the south-east part of the city hospital, the small entrance is there, which is for car park for both staff and public and to get in to the hospital.

In 2010, the hospital was totally changed, where the entrance remains same but one roundabout was built at the entrace of the city hospital. Another roundabout was built at the city road. Where a bus stops are replaced with bus station and opposite to the bus station staff car park ia avaliable. Finally the major changes are done at entrance to hospital and parking.
