The two maps below show road access to a city hospital in 2007 and 2010.

Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features and make comparisons wherever relevant.

Student answer (Band 6.5)

The maps illustrate the road access to a city hospital in 2007 and 2010.

Overall, road access to the city hospital had undergone significant redevelopment, with several new facilities added and some of the original features removed. Some features like a public car park, a bus station and two roundabouts had been added in 2010. A few features had been removed, such as bus stops and joined parking for the staff and public, while the ring road and city hospital remained unchanged throughout the period.

In 2007, there was a total of six bus stops present on either side of the hospital road, with a car parking area, for both staff and public, to its right. There was a city road from west towards east, connected to the hospital road.

In 2010, two roundabouts had been built on either side of the hospital road. A car parking area for the public had been added to the left of the city hospital, with a separate entrance, while the staff car parking had remained unchanged. Bus stops had been removed and a separate block for the bus station had been built to the left of the hospital road, connected to both roundabouts.
