The two maps below show road access to a city hospital in 2007 and 2010.
Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features and make comparisons wherever relevant.
Student answer (Band 6.5)
The given charts illustrate the changes that took place in the layout of the city hospital between 2007 and 2010.
To start with, in 2007, the city hospital was located in the center of the ring road. A city road was situated in the south, while Hospital Road was connected to the ring road. Three bus stops were established on both sides of Hospital Road. On the right side of Hospital Road, there was a car park available for staff and the public.
Moving further, several changes took place by 2010. A new car park was added on the right side of the city hospital. A new bus station was also built on the left side of Hospital Road. The previous bus stops were removed, and a staff car park was constructed in their place. Furthermore, two roundabouts were added in the center of City Road, while another roundabout was constructed near the city hospital.
Overall, several significant changes took place between 2007 and 2010. However, the city hospital remained in the same location, while the car parks and bus stops were removed, relocated, or replaced with new facilities.
