The two maps below show road access to a city hospital in 2007 and 2010.

Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features and make comparisons wherever relevant.

Student answer (Band 6.5)

The two layouts display access to a particular city hospital through road beteen 2007 and 2010.

Overall, there is a tremendous development in 2010 whereby several roads have been constructed to improve the hospital's accessibility. Moreover, several roundabouts were constructed and a bus station was built opposite staff car park. However, the major roads remained unchanged.

Coming to details, in 2007, Ring Road surrounded the entire hospital and was joined by hospital Road from the south. Additionally, the bus stop surrounded the Hospital Road. Also, City Road runs from East to West with an entrance from the South..

In 2010, There were significant changes between Ring Road and City Road as two roundabouts were constructed, both joining a recently built bus station to the West of Hospital Road. Furthermore, a staff car park was placed along Hospital Road while a public one was put to the East of the City Hospital. Finally City Road was connected to Hospital Road by a roundabout to ease the traffic flow between these roads.
