The two maps below show road access to a city hospital in 2007 and 2010.

Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features and make comparisons wherever relevant.

Student answer (Band 6.0)

The two maps illustrate road access to a hospital in a city in 2007 and the redeveloped plan after three years.

Overall, it can be seen that the hospital road underwent a significant changes with relocation of bus stops and addition of public car park and two roundabouts.

In 2007, the city hospital was at the north side of the map, below it was the hospital road with three bus stops on each side. There was a car park for both staff and public, which was on the right bus stops. Then, the city road was located at the southern edge of the map, connected to the hospital road.

In 2010, there was major changes that occurred. Public car park was constructed at the east part of the hospital, while staff car park still maintained its position. The hospital still remained at the northern side of the map, beneath it is two newly built roundabouts with the hospital road in between. Furthermore, the bus stops were demolished and converted into a bus station, which is at the southwest corner. The city road is still on the south side which is connected to the roundabout.
