IELTS Writing Task 1 question

The two maps below show road access to a city hospital in 2007 and 2010.

Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features and make comparisons wherever relevant.

Student answer (Band 6.0)

The map diagram illustrates the road access to a city hospital and compares the changes made in the year 2007 and 2010.

Overall, we can say that road access to the city has been widened with new parking places alloted instead of a single car park for staff and public and all major connecting roadways are named with proper roundabouts.

Genrally speaking, the bus stops on either side of the road are completely replaced with a new staff car park and a public car park has been set-up on the east side of the hospital with a roundabout located at the entrance of the hospital to manage traffic.

Furthermore a new bus station is settled on the south-west side of the hospital both with good entry and exit points from the roundabouts on the hospital road to avoid conjestion in front of the hospital. A new roundabout is also located in the centre of the town with access to city via the city road in south-east of city hospital.
