Student answer (Band 6.5)
The information provided in the given maps demonstrates the accessebility of a urban hospital road throughout the past three years from 2007 to 2010.
Overall, it is quite evident from the mentioned maps that the infrastructure of the new updated road was significantly enhanced. Moreover, there was a separate parking area for public and staff which was the most substantial change in the new design of the city hospital road.
In 2007, there was a city hospital which was surrounded by a ring road from the each side of the hospital. Furthermore, In south side of the hospital a small hospital road was seen, in which six bus terminal were placed, three were the east side and three were on the west of the hospital road. In addition, just to the east side of the hospital road a car parking is located which has been used by both staff of the hospital and by public. Moreover, the hospital road was just linked with the main city road at the most south side of the map.
In 2010, the city hospital was on the same place with the same surrouned ring raod of the four side of the hospital. The major changes was seen on the car parking area which the old car parking area was now only used by staff of the hospital and for the public used there was another parking next to the east side of the city hospital which has linked with the ring road. Additionally, the hospital road was now linded with ring and city road by two separate roundabout circular shape choke which was easy for vehicles to turn out or in. Likewise, the bus station was completely moved to the west side of the hospital road by making a separate area for it.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 7.0
The response successfully addresses all parts of the task by providing a clear overview and highlighting the main features and comparisons between the 2007 and 2010 maps. You clearly identified the key changes, such as the separation of the staff and public car parks, the introduction of roundabouts, and the relocation of the bus station. The overview is effective and captures the general progression of the infrastructure changes over the three-year period. However, to reach a higher band, some details could be elaborated slightly more precisely, such as avoiding minor generalisations about the layout and ensuring all spatial relations are described with complete accuracy, like mentioning the new public car park is situated on the east side of the Ring Road.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 7.0
Your response maintains a clear logical organisation and progression throughout. The essay is divided into sensible paragraphs, starting with an introduction, followed by a well-structured overview, a detailed description of the 2007 map, and finally the 2010 map. You make good use of cohesive devices to guide the reader through the comparisons, such as 'Overall', 'In 2007', 'Furthermore', and 'In 2010'. However, some cohesive devices are occasionally repetitive or mechanical, and referencing could be smoother in places, such as in the sentence starting with 'which the old car parking area'. To achieve a higher level, ensure that transitions between complex clauses are seamless and that referencing pronouns and relative clauses are used with absolute clarity.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, successfully attempting less common items and descriptive phrases such as 'infrastructure', 'significantly enhanced', and 'separate parking area'. However, there are notable spelling errors ('accessebility' instead of accessibility, 'surrouned' instead of surrounded, 'raod' instead of road, 'linded' instead of linked) and occasional awkward word choices or collocations, such as 'bus terminal' instead of bus stops and 'circular shape choke' for roundabouts. These lexical errors and inaccuracies show an attempt at a broader vocabulary range while indicating that control over less common vocabulary and spelling needs strengthening to avoid impeding smooth communication.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
Your response contains a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, demonstrating an ability to construct compound and complex sentences such as 'In 2007, there was a city hospital which was surrounded by a ring road...' However, there are frequent errors in grammar and mechanics, including prepositions and articles (e.g., 'on south side', 'from the each side', 'for the public used'), verb tenses, and relative clause structures (e.g., 'which the old car parking area was now only used'). While these errors rarely impede overall communication, they persist throughout the text, preventing the writing from demonstrating the consistent control and error-free complex structures required at higher bands.
