The maps illustrate how road modification took place to provide easy access to the city hospital over the period of 4 years.
Overall, it is noticeable that the road undergoes significant changes from 2007 to 2010 with the construction of different sections for a bus station, staff car park and public car park.
In 2007, there are three loactions of roads topn reach a city hospital which is situated at the central part, Ring road on the north side with include all the four routes to enter the hospital and in the middle there is hospital road in the middle section with city side road in the southern part. with bus stop on the east side and also in the southern east side there is one area allocated for car park for staff and public.
By 2010, the proposed plan is redeveloped by constructing proper spacious area for each section where the ring road, hospital road and city road remained in the same location. Meanwhile, the bus station is transformed to west side besid the hospital road and public car park is build on the east side which have entrance to both city hospital and ring road. and staff car park located above the city road. Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
The response addresses all parts of the task by outlining the main changes between 2007 and 2010, such as the addition of roundabouts, the relocation of the bus station, and the re-designation of car parks. However, some areas remain under-developed or lack clarity. For instance, the description of the 2007 layout is somewhat confusing, with phrasing like 'three loactions of roads topn reach a city hospital' containing unclear details. While an overview is provided at the beginning, certain features could have been reported with greater precision to fully satisfy higher requirements.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The text exhibits a coherent overall arrangement with a clear paragraph structure, moving from an introduction and overview to specific details for 2007 and then 2010. However, cohesion is sometimes faulty or mechanical. Words like 'Meanwhile' and 'Interestingly' are used, but referencing within sentences is not always clear, leading to choppy transitions. For example, sentences such as 'and staff car park located above the city road' lack necessary connective tissue and disrupt the logical flow between ideas.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
The student uses an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, successfully attempting less common terms such as 'modification', 'redeveloped', and 'transformed'. However, there are noticeable spelling and word-choice errors, such as 'loactions', 'topn', 'besid', and 'build' instead of built. Furthermore, 'round about' is split into two words. These errors do not seriously impede communication, but they reflect a level where vocabulary control is still developing.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
There is a mix of simple and complex sentence forms attempted throughout the response. However, control over grammar and punctuation is inconsistent, with frequent minor errors including missing articles, incorrect prepositions, and sentence fragments starting with conjunctions like 'and'. For instance, 'with bus stop on the east side' lacks article agreement, and 'where the ring road, hospital road and city road remained' shows issues with tense and clause integration. These errors occasionally cause difficulty for the reader.
