Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5

The response fails to meet the minimum length requirement of 150 words, stopping at only 126 words. While the candidate attempts to describe the two maps of the city hospital in 2007 and 2010, the coverage is minimal and superficial. Key features such as the reconfiguration of the car parks, the introduction of roundabouts, and the replacement of individual bus stops with a designated bus station are described vaguely or inaccurately. For instance, phrases like 'the 2007 city hospital was leaat developed' and 'in comparison to 2010 city hospital was amazing' demonstrate a subjective and tangential approach rather than an objective summary of the visual data. The overall overview is extremely simplistic, limiting the score for this criterion.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response shows some basic organization with paragraph breaks separating the introduction of the 2007 map, the 2010 map, and a brief concluding remark. However, there is no clear overall progression or logical flow. Cohesive devices are either missing, inadequate, or repetitive, relying heavily on additive links like 'furthermore' and 'in addition to' without proper syntactic control. Referencing is frequently unclear, making it difficult for the reader to follow the spatial relationships between the hospital, roads, and surrounding facilities. Furthermore, the lack of punctuation throughout the response creates massive run-on sentences that severely disrupt cohesion and readability.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

Vocabulary usage is limited and repetitive, with basic lexical items such as 'hospital', 'road', 'parking', and 'bus' recurring frequently. There are noticeable word choice and word formation errors, such as 'leaat', 'staffcar parking', and 'conjusted', which cause difficulty for the reader. The candidate attempts to use more descriptive vocabulary when discussing the 2010 map, producing inappropriate subjective adjectives like 'amazing', 'well structured', and 'well discipline', rather than precise, formal geographic or architectural terms suited for an academic task. Spelling and morphological errors further restrict the lexical score to a lower band.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

The grammatical range is very limited, consisting predominantly of poorly constructed, overly long sentences joined incorrectly by conjunctions or lacking necessary punctuation entirely. There is a complete absence of complex sentence forms with accurate control. Frequent errors occur in basic sentence structure, subject-verb agreement, and the omission or misuse of articles and prepositions, such as 'around hospital is ring road' and 'east to south corner was staff parking allotted'. These persistent errors strain the reader and obscure the intended meaning throughout the text.
