Student answer (Band 5.5)
The two maps provides the information about how to acess to a local city hospital by following the road maps in 2007 and 2010.
By analysing,it is apperant that in 2007, the city hospital is covered by ring road from all sides. There was a hospital road in the north-south.In contrast ,the cuty road was below in the south.Besides this,to the south, there was a car park for staff members and also for local public and bus stand was also combined with it.opposite to the car park ,the second car park was in the west side.
looking at the map in more detail, from 2007 to 2010,the city hospital saw spectacular development. The city hospital was same on the previous place but the surrounding areas changed considerably. As compared with past , public parking and staff parking were now separated from each other. The public parking was combined with city hospital in the north-east side ,while the employees parking was still on previous place.Moving further, bus stand now established in the south -west and ot was accesed by two roundabout.
Hence, from the overall analysis,it is vivid that during the period, the city hospital changed considerably.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You identify the broad change over time and mention several relevant features, including the separation of staff and public parking and the replacement of bus stops by a bus station. However, some key locations are misreported: in 2007 the shared car park was east of Hospital Road, not south of the hospital, and the bus stops were on both sides of Hospital Road rather than combined with the car park. In 2010, the public car park was east of the Ring Road, not directly combined with the hospital. The overview that the hospital itself stayed in place while its surroundings changed is useful, but the account of the road layout and access changes is incomplete and sometimes unclear. More precise comparisons would make the summary more fully informative.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has an overall sequence from the 2007 map to the 2010 map, and phrases such as “In contrast” and “Moving further” signal changes. This gives the reader a basic structure. However, the paragraphing and progression are not consistently clear: the first section moves from the ring road to the car park and bus stops, but the locations are difficult to follow, while the later section combines several changes in long, loosely connected sentences. The final sentence repeats the general idea that the area changed without adding a clear summary of the main changes. Use one paragraph for the earlier layout, one for the later layout, and a concise overview that groups the major developments. Check that references such as “it” and “previous place” have clear meanings.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You attempt a range of task-related vocabulary, including “surrounding areas,” “separated,” “employees parking,” and “roundabout.” However, noticeable spelling and word-choice errors reduce precision, for example “acess,” “apperant,” “cuty,” and “ot.” Some expressions are also unnatural or inaccurate for describing maps: “bus stand” and “public parking was combined with city hospital” do not clearly convey the features shown. “Spectacular development” is overly evaluative for a factual map report. Aim for precise location and change vocabulary, such as “to the east of,” “was replaced by,” and “was converted into,” and use the map’s labels, including “bus station” and “car park.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including comparisons with “while” and “as compared with,” but control is inconsistent. Errors occur in agreement and verb forms, as in “The two maps provides” and “the city hospital saw,” and in sentence construction, such as “there was a hospital road in the north-south.” Articles and prepositions are also often missing or awkward, while punctuation spacing and comma use make some sentences harder to follow. These problems sometimes obscure the relationships between features. Practise accurate map-description patterns such as “Hospital Road ran north–south” and “A car park was located east of the road.” Shorter, complete sentences will help you express the comparisons more reliably before adding complex clauses.
