Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5
The response identifies the two years and mentions several relevant features, including the car parks, bus station and bus stops. However, it does not give a clear, accurate overview of the main changes. For example, it says the hospital “went several prominent changes” and that it “is large,” neither of which is supported by the maps. It also incorrectly claims that the bus stops remained and that the staff car park was extended; in fact, the individual stops were replaced by a bus station, and the existing car park became staff-only while a separate public car park was added beside Ring Road. Focus on the road-access changes and describe them precisely.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5
There is an attempt to organise the response by introducing the maps, giving an overall statement, and then discussing 2007 and 2010. This provides a basic framework, but the progression is difficult to follow because details are mixed together and some statements contradict one another. For instance, the 2010 section says both that a bus station is new and that the bus stops “remain same.” Linking expressions such as “Furthermore,” “Oppositely,” and “Moreover” are used, but they do not always show a clear relationship between ideas. Use separate, focused paragraphs for the overview and the key changes, and connect each comparison directly to the relevant year.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
The response attempts some task-related vocabulary, including “ring road,” “car park,” “bus station,” and “infrastructure,” so the reader can identify the general subject. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate, which makes some descriptions unclear. Phrases such as “went several prominent changes,” “Pouring the some light,” and “many passage of time” are not natural ways to describe map changes. There are also spelling errors, including “hpospital” and “ficilities.” Use precise verbs and location language, such as “was converted into,” “was added,” “to the east of,” and “connected to,” and check spelling carefully.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
The response attempts both simple and longer sentence forms, but control is inconsistent and errors frequently make relationships between features hard to understand. For example, “Overall,It can be seen thatthe city hospital 2007 went…” has missing spaces and an incomplete or faulty clause, while “there are some new infrastructure” has an agreement error. Tense also shifts between past and present when describing the two maps, and punctuation is often missing or incorrectly attached to words. Build clear sentences with a consistent past tense for the map descriptions, for example, “In 2010, the bus stops were replaced by a bus station.” Check articles, agreement, sentence boundaries, and spacing during revision.
