Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
You identify the main transformation clearly: the bus stops were replaced by a bus station, two roundabouts were added, and parking was separated for staff and the public. The overview also captures the broad direction of change, and most locations are reported accurately. This meets the task well, with some features more fully covered than others. However, the 2010 description becomes unclear at the end: “the car parking was replaced by new car park for staff and public one along” is unfinished and does not accurately explain that the former shared car park became the staff car park, while a separate public car park was added east of Ring Road. Clarifying this distinction and describing the new public car park’s position would make the account more complete and precise.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a sensible overall structure: an introduction, a summary of the main changes, and separate descriptions of 2007 and 2010. This gives the reader a clear basic progression, and phrases such as “In 2007” and “In 2010” help signal the comparison. However, some linking and punctuation are mechanical or unclear. The overview lists several changes in one long sequence, while the final sentence trails off, leaving the parking comparison incomplete. The phrase “another parallel to initial one” also makes the relationship between the roundabouts difficult to follow. Use shorter, complete sentences and organise the 2010 details by transport access and parking to improve the flow and clarity of connections.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use relevant map vocabulary, including “surrounded,” “roundabouts,” “bus stops,” “bus station,” and “car parks,” so the reader can understand the main changes. There is also some attempt to describe purpose with “for better movement of vehicles.” However, the range is limited and several word choices or spellings reduce precision: “few changes” understates the substantial alterations, “individual parking” is not the clearest term for separate facilities, and “parallel to initial one” is an awkward description of the second roundabout. Spelling errors such as “rounabouts” and “seperate” are noticeable. Aim for precise location and change vocabulary, and check spelling and collocations before submitting.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The response attempts both simple and more extended sentence forms, and the main meaning is generally recoverable. However, grammatical control is inconsistent, particularly with agreement, articles, tense, and sentence boundaries. For example, “The two maps compares” should use a plural verb, while “City hospital surrounded by ringroad” is missing a verb and articles. The shift from past description to “There are some major changes” is also inconsistent with the maps’ dates. Several sentences run together, as in the description of the roundabouts, and the final sentence is incomplete. Practise forming complete sentences with consistent past-tense reporting, and use punctuation to separate related details; this will make the information easier to follow.
