Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You identify the main changes and provide an overview, noting the new roundabouts, bus station and separation of staff and public parking. The comparison that the staff car park remains in its original location while the public facility moves to the east is relevant and broadly accurate. However, some details are unclear or inaccurate: in 2007 the shared car park is east of Hospital Road, not on both sides, and the bus stops are on both sides rather than a single “bus park” on the far left. The claim that the upper part of the ring road had no major changes is a useful observation, but the description of the access layout is confusing. More precise reporting of the bus-stop removal and the public car park’s direct access from Ring Road would make the account more complete.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a clear overall shape: an introduction, an overview, and separate descriptions of the two years. This helps the reader follow the broad before-and-after comparison. Linking expressions such as “Overall,” “In 2007,” and “By 2010” are appropriate, but some connections are mechanical or unclear. For example, “likewise” does not clearly show how the bus station relates to the parking changes, and the final sentence repeats the roundabout information already mentioned. Several long sentences combine multiple locations and changes, making the sequence difficult to follow. Use one main feature per sentence and group details by location—for example, first the road junctions, then parking, then bus facilities—to create a more controlled progression.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
You use a reasonable range of task-related vocabulary, including “surrounded,” “introduction,” “separate,” “replaced,” and “constructed,” and the reader can generally understand the changes. There are also attempts at more formal description, such as “significant improvements.” However, some word choices and collocations are inaccurate or imprecise: “bus park” does not describe the bus stops, “roundabout road” is unclear, and “car parking” is less natural here than “car park.” “Major development that are done” is also an awkward way to introduce the maps. Aim for precise map vocabulary and consistent terms, such as “bus stops,” “bus station,” “staff car park,” and “public car park.” These refinements would make the description clearer and more natural.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt a mix of simple and complex sentences, including clauses with “while” and “where,” and the overall meaning is usually recoverable. However, errors in agreement, verb forms, articles and sentence construction occur in several places. For example, “the hospital were surrounded” should use a singular verb, while “the hospital experience significant improvements” needs a past-tense verb. The phrase “there is no any major changes” has problems with both the verb and determiner, and “two roundabout point were built” has number-agreement errors. Punctuation and capitalisation are also inconsistent, particularly after full stops. Practise checking each sentence for a clear subject and verb, consistent past tense, and correct singular or plural forms.
