Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You identify the main period of change and mention the two roundabouts, the new public car park and the bus station, so the response includes some relevant features. However, the account is only partial and several details are inaccurate or unclear. In 2007, the car park was already present east of Hospital Road and served both staff and the public; it was not an empty area. The bus stops were individual stops on both sides of the road, not a “tiny” bus station. In 2010, the existing car park became staff-only, while a separate public car park was added east of the Ring Road. A clearer overview and accurate comparisons of these changes would make the summary more complete.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a basic chronological structure: it first describes 2007 and then contrasts this with 2010, using “But” to signal the change. This gives the reader a general sense of progression. However, the organisation is not consistently clear: the opening overview is brief, and the final sentence combines several locations and relationships in a way that is difficult to follow. For example, “on the front of two roundabouts” does not clearly explain where the bus station is situated or how it connects to the roads. Use separate, logically ordered sentences for the road changes, parking arrangements and bus facilities, and make references such as “it” or “the car park” unambiguous.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You attempt some task-relevant vocabulary, including “roundabouts,” “car parking,” “staff car park” and “bus station.” However, the range is limited, and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate enough to make the map details harder to understand. “Bus station” is used for the individual bus stops shown in 2007, while “empty” incorrectly describes an area that already contained a shared car park. Phrases such as “stand their vehicles” and “on the front of two roundabouts” are not natural descriptions of map locations. Aim for precise terms such as “bus stops,” “located east of,” and “connected to,” and check spelling and word forms before submitting.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You try to use both simple statements and longer sentences, including a contrast between the two years. However, grammatical errors are frequent, and some sentences are difficult to interpret. For example, “The two true maps illustrates” has a subject–verb agreement error, while “there is noticeble changing seen” has an incorrect construction. Articles, plurals and sentence boundaries also need attention: “on the both side” and “city road.Bus” are examples. The sentence beginning “Hospital manegment improved” also presents an unsupported actor and uses a less suitable structure for describing a map. Practise accurate present- or past-tense descriptions with clear subjects, and proofread agreement, articles and punctuation.
