Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You identify several relevant changes, including the separation of staff and public parking and the addition of roundabouts. However, the response only partially covers the maps: it omits the new bus station and the removal of the individual bus stops, and the overview that “bus is shifted at west” is unclear. The claim that bus stops were on the east in 2007 is incomplete, as stops were on both sides of Hospital Road. The response is also below the required 150 words, which limits the detail and comparisons you can provide. To strengthen the report, give a clear overview and describe the main changes accurately, including the bus station and both car parks.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0

The response has a basic sequence: it introduces the maps, gives a brief overview, and then mentions parking, buses and road access. However, the ideas are compressed into one paragraph and do not develop in a clear, consistent order. Connections such as “However” and “Moreover” are used, but the relationship between the points is not always clear; for example, “bus is shifted at west” does not explain what changed. Organise the report into an overview and a paragraph for the main changes, grouping related transport and parking features. Use clear references such as “the bus stops” and “the new bus station” so readers can follow each comparison.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some task-relevant vocabulary, including “roundabout,” “Ring Road,” “staff parking” and “public car parking,” so the main subject is generally recognisable. However, the range is limited and several phrases are inaccurate or awkward, such as “bus is shifted at west,” “parking is changed” and “nearby east of the ring road.” Spelling errors in “Morever” and “hspital” also reduce accuracy. Choose precise map-description language and use natural collocations: for example, say that bus stops were replaced by a bus station, and that a public car park was added east of the Ring Road. Avoid repeating “parking” when “car park” is more appropriate.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

Most sentences use simple structures, and the basic comparison between 2007 and 2010 can sometimes be understood. However, grammatical errors are frequent, and the limited range makes relationships between features unclear. For example, “The maps show … in 2007 to 2010” uses an incorrect time construction; “the location of car park and staff park are also change” has problems with articles, agreement and verb form; and “city road and hspital connected through roundabout” lacks a clear verb and articles. Practise accurate past-tense descriptions and complete sentence patterns, such as “In 2010, the roads were connected by roundabouts.” Check articles, plurals and punctuation when editing.
