Student answer (Band 4.5)
The provided maps illustrate the road access to a city hospital in 2007 to 2010.
Overall, the city hospital in 2007 has city road that ahead to the south, west , north and east.
While the City hospital 2010 has city road along with roundabout.
On the one hand, in city hosital has a bus stop in the east. However, the in city hospital where had the bus the stop it traform to the roundabout. When we enter to the city road, and take a first right on your hand, the car park staff and public is next to you on your right hand. As well as the City Hospital 2010, when you enter a city road, you see a roundabout on the center of the cityroad, then you take your right hand, you see a staff car park on your right hand and your left hand you see a bus station.
In conclution, there are some differences in 2007 and 2010 city hospital , that is where city road , then bus station, roundabout on the hospital road.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5
You identify the maps’ general subject and mention several relevant features, including the car park, bus facilities and roundabouts. However, the account is only minimally informative and some key changes are missing or unclear. The 2007 hospital is not surrounded by City Road on all four sides; Ring Road lies to its north, west and east, while City Road is to the south. The 2010 public car park and the removal of the individual bus stops are not accurately reported, and the statement that bus stops “transform to the roundabout” misrepresents the changes. Give a clear overview of the main developments, then describe the locations and changes precisely.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5
The response has an opening, a brief overview, a body and a concluding sentence, so there is an attempt to organise the information. However, the progression is difficult to follow because the description shifts between years and uses a confusing route-based account, such as “when you enter to the city road” and “take a first right.” Connectors including “On the one hand,” “However,” and “As well as” do not clearly show the relationships between the map features. The conclusion largely repeats earlier points rather than summarising the main changes. Organise the body by comparing 2007 with 2010, and use clear location links such as “to the east of” and “whereas.”
Lexical Resource: Band 4.5
The vocabulary is basic and repetitive, relying heavily on “city road,” “right hand,” “see” and “car park.” Some relevant map terms are used, including “roundabout,” “bus station” and “staff car park,” but several choices are inaccurate or unclear: “ahead to the south” does not describe the road’s position, and “transform to the roundabout” gives the wrong relationship between bus stops and roundabouts. There are also spelling errors such as “hosital,” “traform” and “conclution,” which make the text less clear. Build a more precise set of location and change expressions, and check spelling before submitting.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
There is an attempt to use longer sentences and contrast, but grammatical control is weak and errors frequently make the meaning difficult to interpret. For example, “the city hospital in 2007 has city road that ahead to the south, west, north and east” has an unclear clause structure and incorrect verb pattern. “When we enter to the city road” also uses an incorrect preposition and shifts into direct instructions rather than a map description. Articles, agreement and sentence boundaries are inconsistent, as in “the in city hospital where had the bus the stop it…” Practise accurate simple location sentences first, then combine them with controlled comparisons using “while” or “whereas.”
