Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You identify the main overall changes: the addition of a bus station and two roundabouts, and the separation of staff and public parking. You also correctly note that the ring road remained. These points address the task, but some details are incomplete or unclear. In 2007, there were several bus stops on both sides of Hospital Road, rather than just “a bus stop” on the eastern side; by 2010 these were replaced by a bus station to the west. The public car park was newly added east of the Ring Road, not simply redeveloped in its previous position. Clarify these comparisons and describe the roundabouts as being at the Ring Road and City Road junctions to make the key changes more precise and fully reported.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable progression from an overview to the 2007 layout and then the 2010 changes, so the reader can follow the broad comparison. Paragraphing also helps separate the time periods. However, some linking is mechanical or confusing: “Although the ring road … remained unchange, it also introduced…” does not clearly show how the ideas relate, and “Whereas” begins a fragment-like final statement rather than a clear contrast. References such as “it” and “in front of it” are sometimes ambiguous, making locations harder to follow. Organise the details by comparing each feature across the two maps, and use direct links such as “By 2010” or “In contrast” only where the relationship is clear.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some relevant map vocabulary, including “ring road,” “staff car parking,” “public parking area,” and “roundabout,” which helps convey the main changes. However, inaccurate word choice, spelling, and collocation are noticeable and sometimes make the description difficult to interpret. For example, “pathway of the residential health-care centre” is not a natural description of road access to a city hospital, while “bus stop at distant” and “west-sought side” are unclear. There are also repeated spelling errors such as “eastren,” “puplic,” and “conneted.” Use precise location phrases and standard map terminology, and check spelling carefully. A more controlled range of words for additions, removals, and locations would improve clarity.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt a mixture of simple and more complex sentences, including clauses beginning with “while,” “although,” and “which.” Some sentence patterns communicate the broad comparison, but errors in sentence construction and grammatical forms recur. For example, “At a glance, reveales that…” lacks a clear subject, and “it had least fasilities” is missing an article and has an unclear structure. In “staff car parking remained same,” the article is also missing; the final sentence beginning “Whereas” is not a complete, well-formed contrast. Aim for clear subject–verb sentences first, then add subordinate clauses where they fit. Check articles, verb forms, and sentence boundaries so the complex attempts remain easy to follow.
