Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You identify the main change over time: the hospital and ring road remain in place, while parking and bus facilities are reorganised and roundabouts are added. You also compare the two years and include several relevant locations. However, some details are inaccurate or unclear: in 2007, the bus stops were on both sides of Hospital Road, not a bus station; in 2010, the public car park was newly added east of the Ring Road rather than relocated, and the northern roundabout was at the Ring Road junction, not beside the hospital building. The overview is relevant but could distinguish these changes more precisely. The response is 141 words, below the required 150; the 10 words copied from the prompt are excluded.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, an overview, and separate descriptions of 2007 and 2010. The time markers “In 2007” and “in 2010” help the reader follow the comparison, and the main ideas are generally presented in a sensible order. However, some connections and references are unclear, such as “beside the bus” and “the second towards north direction,” which make it difficult to identify the exact locations being described. The overview also combines several changes in one sentence without clearly grouping them. To improve progression, organise each year’s features by road layout, parking, and public transport, and use precise references such as “the northern roundabout” or “the bus stops.”
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use relevant map vocabulary, including “ring road,” “car park,” “bus station,” “east side,” and “roundabout,” so the reader can understand the general subject. There are also attempts at more specific language, such as “remained unchanged” and “shifted.” However, several word choices and collocations are inaccurate or awkward: “the surrounding of a city hospital upgraded,” “extra parking lot,” and “at both sides of hospital rd.” “Bus station” is also used for the individual bus stops shown in 2007, which changes the meaning. Spelling errors such as “entarance” and “towar” reduce accuracy. Build a more precise range of location and change vocabulary, and check spelling and natural combinations before submitting.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a contrast with “while” and a comparison across years. The main message is usually understandable, but some grammatical errors affect clarity. For example, “the surrounding of a city hospital upgraded” is missing a suitable subject and verb form, while “two new roundabout were added” has a plural-agreement error. Articles and prepositions are also inconsistent in phrases such as “at same place” and “at right from main road.” The final sentence joins several changes with commas, making the relationships between them difficult to follow. Practise accurate past-tense descriptions, article use, plural agreement, and sentence boundaries; shorter, well-controlled sentences would help while you develop more complex structures.
