Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5

You identify the period and mention several relevant changes, including the separation of staff and public parking, the bus station, and roundabouts. However, the response only partially reports the maps: the 2007 arrangement is described vaguely, and key changes such as the removal of the individual bus stops and the new public car park east of Ring Road are not clearly explained. Some details are inaccurate or difficult to interpret, for example, saying public transport is “attached with hospital” and that the roundabout is “close to hospital.” There is no clear overview of the main transformation. The response is also 6 words below the required minimum. To improve, give a concise overview and accurately compare the road, bus and parking arrangements in both years.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a basic chronological structure: it first describes 2007 and then moves to 2010. This gives the reader a simple route through the comparison, and phrases such as “In 2010” help signal the shift. However, the first paragraph combines several unclear observations, while the second contains many details joined together without clear separation. The progression between ideas is therefore uneven, and references such as “both sides” and “which grap shows” are difficult to follow. Organise the response into a brief overview followed by one paragraph for each map, and use clear linking phrases to show how each feature changed. This would make the comparison easier to understand.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some task-related vocabulary, including “parking,” “bus station,” “hospital road” and “roundabout,” so the reader can recognise the general subject. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations make the description unclear: “parking of staff and public on same place,” “trendy innovation,” and “public transport is slightly upward” do not accurately express the map features. Spelling errors such as “seprately” and “happend” also reduce precision. Aim for standard map-description language and accurate labels, such as “shared car park,” “was replaced by,” and “located to the west of Hospital Road.” Avoid adding evaluative language like “old design” when the maps show road access rather than building design.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

The response attempts both simple and longer sentence forms, and the time references “between 2007 and 2010” and “In 2010” help establish when changes occurred. However, grammatical errors are frequent and sometimes make relationships between features hard to understand. For example, “2007 we can see” lacks a suitable introductory phrase, while “bus station located” and “Roundabout is close” omit necessary verb forms or articles. The sentence beginning “They instruct two different parkings” also has an unclear subject and faulty structure. Punctuation is inconsistent, including missing spaces after full stops and commas. Practise complete sentences with clear subjects and verbs, and check articles, tense consistency and sentence boundaries.
