Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5
You identify the topic and make a basic comparison between 2007 and 2010, mentioning the car parks, bus stops and bus station. However, the response reports the maps only minimally and includes unclear or inaccurate claims: the hospital itself is not shown as becoming larger or more developed, and the key changes to road access are not explained. In particular, you do not describe the two roundabouts, the bus station’s access roads, or the new public car park beside Ring Road. The overview is vague rather than summarising the main changes. The response is 99 words, below the required 150; this leaves too little space to select and explain the main features. Add a clear overview and specific, accurate comparisons.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0
There is a basic attempt to move from a general statement to details, and the repeated references to 2007 and 2010 give the reader some sense of comparison. However, the ideas are not arranged into a clear account of the map changes. The paragraph shifts abruptly between the hospital’s size, car parking, bus stops and the bus station, while phrases such as “There are two different” and “In 2007 city hospital have short map” do not make the intended connections clear. Repetition of “In 2007” and “in 2010” also substitutes for more precise linking. Organise the response into an overview followed by grouped details, and use clear contrasts such as “whereas” or “by 2010” to show how each feature changed.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.5
Your vocabulary is basic but includes some relevant map terms, such as “car park,” “bus stop,” “bus station” and “roundabout.” This gives the response a foundation for describing the layout. However, the range is repetitive, and several choices are inaccurate or too vague to communicate the changes precisely. “Dramatically change” and “more develop” do not describe the specific road-access alterations, while “two different” and “short map” are unclear. There are also spelling and word-form problems, including “ND” for “and” and “develop” where “developed” is needed. Build a more precise set of terms for locations and changes, such as “to the east of,” “was replaced by,” and “was converted into,” and check spelling and collocations.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
The response mainly uses short, simple statements, with a limited attempt at a longer structure in “In 2007 its not develop but in 2010 is more develop.” Errors occur frequently in basic sentence formation and make some meanings difficult to follow. For example, “The map illustrate” has subject–verb disagreement, “city hospital dramatically change” lacks an appropriate verb form, and “in 2010 city hospital have” does not use the correct tense or agreement. Articles and sentence boundaries are also inconsistent, as in “Looking at the map city hospital changed in 2007 hospital is not big.” Use the past simple consistently for both maps, check singular/plural agreement, and form complete sentences with clear subjects and verbs. A few accurate simple sentences would improve clarity before adding more complex comparisons.
