Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You identify the broad changes between the maps, including the addition of a bus station and public car park, and you note that the hospital and Ring Road remain in place. However, the account only partially reports the key layout changes, and some details are inaccurate or unclear. For example, the 2010 map has roundabouts at both the Ring Road and City Road junctions, not “on the south and second on the center in 2007.” The bus station is west of Hospital Road, while the new public car park is east of the Ring Road. The overview also says the hospital has “more modern facilities” without clearly summarising the main reorganisation. Describe the changes precisely and compare the two years directly.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure: an overview followed by separate paragraphs for 2007 and 2010. This gives the reader a basic route through the information, and linking expressions such as “Moreover” and “Furthermore” show an attempt to connect points. However, progression within paragraphs is often difficult to follow because several features are compressed into unclear sentences, particularly the final sentence about the roundabouts and bus stops. Some connectors are used mechanically or do not clarify the relationship between ideas. Improve the organisation by grouping changes by feature—for example, road junctions, parking and bus facilities—and use clear comparisons between the years. This would make the overall progression more consistent.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some relevant map vocabulary, including “Ring Road,” “bus stops,” “public car park” and “roundabout,” so the topic is generally identifiable. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations make the description imprecise or difficult to understand. Phrases such as “region hospital,” “different six bus stops,” “in the front of car parking” and “modern changes” are not natural ways to describe these features. There are also spelling errors, including “reamined,” “botton” and “roundaboat.” Use precise location language and standard map terms, such as “to the west of,” “at the junction,” and “was replaced by.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

The response attempts both simple and more extended sentences, and the paragraph structure helps separate the time periods. However, grammatical control is weak: errors occur frequently, and some sentences are difficult to interpret. For example, “the city hospital has a significant changes” has an agreement error, while “in the south side was a hospital road which provide” has faulty word order and an incorrect verb form. The opening phrase “between 2007 to 2010” also uses an incorrect preposition pattern. Articles, plurals and tense choices are inconsistent, as in “roundabout and bus stop has become.” Practise accurate past-tense descriptions and straightforward location clauses before adding longer sentence structures.
