Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5

You identify the main transformation: the shared car park became separate staff and public facilities, the bus stops were replaced by a bus station, and two roundabouts were added. The overview also captures the broad change in access, and most details are relevant. Some points, however, are unclear or imprecise: the public car park is on the east side of Ring Road, not simply on the “right side of hospital,” and the bus station is west of Hospital Road rather than specifically “south-west” of the hospital. The description of the 2007 route as “on north to city road” is also difficult to interpret. This covers the task well overall, but more precise positioning and fuller explanation of the access changes would strengthen it.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable structure, with an overview followed by descriptions of the two years, and sequencing phrases such as “In 2007,” “Furthermore,” and “Lastly” help guide the reader. The main progression is generally understandable, but cohesion is sometimes mechanical, and some references are difficult to follow. For example, “Stright road connecting hospital was changed with two crossing” does not clearly identify the road or explain the change, while “on hospital road” is repeated in the final paragraph without adding much clarity. The overview and detail paragraphs also repeat the parking and bus-station changes. Use clearer topic sentences and refer consistently to named roads and locations to make the organisation more fluent.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use relevant map vocabulary, including “ring road,” “car park,” “bus stop,” “roundabout,” and “connecting,” so the reader can identify the main features. However, the range is limited and several choices or forms are inaccurate, which sometimes makes the description less precise. Examples include “road linking,” “crossing” for roundabouts, “car parking” where “car park” is more natural, and “particular station” instead of “bus station.” There are also spelling errors such as “Stright,” “enterance,” and “seperate.” Aim for accurate, conventional map language and check spelling; precise terms such as “access road,” “located to the east of,” and “replaced by” would improve clarity.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more extended sentences, and the response is usually understandable. However, grammatical control is inconsistent, particularly with articles, agreement, sentence boundaries, and verb forms. For instance, “The road has undergone certain changes than previous” has an incorrect comparison structure, while “six bus station was combined” has a number-agreement error. The overview sentence beginning “Stright road connecting hospital was changed” is missing necessary articles and has an unclear passive construction. There are also punctuation and spacing problems, as in “androad,” and the capitalisation after “Overall,” is inconsistent. Practise building accurate sentences around a clear subject and verb, then check articles, plurals, and punctuation.
