Near the hospital road, there is a parking area where staff and public can park their cars. then in 2007, city hospital is near the ring road. on the right side, there is a public car park area. If we move from parking area then hospital is on lrft side. In the front side of the hospital, there is hospital road and staff car parking area is on the right side of road and bus station is on the left side. If we move from bus station, then by hospital road we can go on the city road.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 3.0

The response identifies several relevant features, including the ring road, the shared staff-and-public parking in 2007, and the later bus station and staff car park. However, it does not clearly summarise the main changes between the maps: the bus stops were replaced by a bus station, the car park was divided by use, and a new public car park was added beside the Ring Road. Some locations are also confused, such as saying the hospital is “on” Hospital Road and describing a public car park on the right without making clear that this is the 2010 arrangement. There is no clear overview, and the response is 20 words below the required minimum. Select the key changes and describe them accurately in a concise overview and supporting details.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 3.5

There is a basic sequence of location descriptions, and phrases such as “on the right side” and “If we move from bus station” attempt to guide the reader around the map. However, the response does not separate the 2007 and 2010 information clearly. It begins with 2007, then shifts to 2010, but returns to “then in 2007,” making the timeline difficult to follow. Repeated directional phrasing also creates a list-like progression rather than a comparison of the maps. Use separate paragraphs for the overview and the main changes, and organise details by year or feature. Clear links such as “By 2010” and “In contrast” would make the progression easier to follow.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

The response uses some relevant map vocabulary, including “ring road,” “hospital road,” “car park,” “bus station,” and “right side.” These terms generally allow the reader to recognise the places being described. However, the range is basic and repetitive, with frequent reliance on “there is,” “road,” and “parking area.” Some choices are imprecise for describing a map: “manufactured in 2007” does not convey that the map shows the hospital in that year, and “in the front side” is an unclear way to indicate a position. Aim for precise location and change vocabulary, such as “located,” “adjacent to,” “was replaced by,” and “was added,” while avoiding repeated generic phrases.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

The response attempts both simple statements and longer sentences using “where,” “if,” and “then,” so there is some variety in sentence construction. However, control is uneven. For example, “There is a ring road and then there is a hospital road” is an awkward structure, and “City hospital is on that road which is manufactured in 2007” has an unclear relative clause and tense. The sequence “then in 2007” also makes the time reference confusing. Punctuation and sentence boundaries need attention: “road.City” lacks a space, and “then” begins a sentence without appropriate capitalisation. Practise clear past-tense descriptions and shorter, accurately punctuated sentences before adding more complex clauses.
