Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You identify the two years and report several relevant changes, including the removal of the individual bus stops, the addition of a bus station and roundabouts, and the separation of staff and public parking. However, the comparison is only partial and some locations are unclear or inaccurate: the public car park is east of the Ring Road, not simply “on the ring road,” and the 2007 car park is described as being “near” the hospital rather than east of Hospital Road. There is no clear overview of the main transformation, and the final sentence does not explain it. To strengthen the response, summarise the overall shift from roadside bus stops and shared parking to a bus station, roundabouts and separate car parks, then describe each change precisely.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The response has a basic chronological structure: one paragraph discusses 2007 and another discusses 2010, with “On the other hand” signalling the change of year. This gives the reader some organisation. However, the opening repeats the task rather than establishing a clear overview, and the final sentence, “The maps of city hospital on 2010 can change the 2007,” does not provide a meaningful conclusion. Within paragraphs, ideas are often joined in long, unclear sequences, especially the description of the roundabouts and bus station. Use a concise overview followed by one paragraph for each map, and connect each feature with clear location-based sequencing rather than repeating “and” or “the map.”
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant map vocabulary, including “ring road,” “car park,” “bus stop,” “bus station” and “round about,” so the topic is recognisable. However, the range is limited and several phrases are imprecise or awkward, such as “the city hospital center in the ring road” and “the public car park has build on the ring road.” Repetition of “city hospital,” “road” and “round about” also limits flexibility. Choose precise terms for position and change, such as “east of,” “adjacent to,” “was added” and “was replaced by.” Check standard forms such as “roundabout” and use “car park” labels consistently to distinguish staff and public facilities.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
The response attempts to describe changes using past-time language, but control of sentence structure and verb forms is inconsistent. For example, “the public car park has build” uses an incorrect verb form, while “The city road have move” has problems with agreement and tense. Several sentences lack a clear grammatical structure, including “And the round about the front of the city hospital and the round about to connect the bus station…” Articles and prepositions are also often missing or misplaced. Most sentences rely on simple clauses joined with “and,” and attempts at longer structures are frequently difficult to follow. Practise accurate past passive forms such as “was built” and “were removed,” and write shorter, complete sentences with a clear subject and verb before adding complex clauses.
