Student answer (Band 5.5)

This map represent two plan of one hospital in two different year (2007/2010).We can remark that there some similar and different points and changes definitely it's related to what people need in this period and the development of technology.

Start by the elder hospital, the city of hospital is around by Ring round to log in /out the hospital so it's related to City road passing by the hospital raod, not forgetting the car park wether it's staff or public and the bus spot the most important two things because patients and people who word in the hospital need them .

Three years after, there are new extra ordinary change which play fondamental function. One separate the two kind of car park staff and public and make them more karge and huge. The second change is that they add new big bus station near to the hospital since the first one is very short and in the route that make some problems between cars and buses. The third different is adding two roundabout it helps to simplify problems and resume both of time, efforts and problems . Other things except this changes remain the same.

In conclusion, the progress in years make big different concerning what people need, the technology and solutions like roundabout.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You identify the main period of change and mention several relevant features: the bus stops were replaced by a bus station, the car parking was divided into staff and public areas, and two roundabouts were added. However, some details are inaccurate or unclear. In 2007, the hospital was bordered by the Ring Road on its north, west and east sides; the response instead says it was “around by Ring round to log in /out.” The 2010 public car park was newly added beside the Ring Road, rather than both car parks becoming larger. The overview also says other things remained the same, but the bus stops disappeared and access arrangements changed. Focus on describing visible changes rather than speculating about technology or why they were made.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has an identifiable structure: an introduction, a description of the earlier map, a paragraph on later changes, and a conclusion. Time markers such as “Three years after” help signal the comparison. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes difficult to follow because several features and explanations are crowded into long sentences. Phrases such as “Start by the elder hospital” and “Other things except this changes remain the same” do not clearly guide the reader through the map information. The repeated use of “the second change” and “the third different” is mechanical, while the conclusion repeats general claims rather than summarising the main spatial changes. Organise the body around clear comparisons and use precise references to locations.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You attempt a range of vocabulary, including “separate,” “fundamental function,” “simplify,” and “development,” and use relevant map terms such as “car park,” “bus station,” and “roundabout.” However, frequent inaccurate word choices and spelling errors make some descriptions hard to interpret. Examples include “bus spot” for bus stops, “wet[h]er” for whether, “word” for work, “karge,” and “resume both of time.” Some expressions, such as “extra ordinary change” and “big different,” are also unnatural or imprecise. Build a reliable set of terms for describing maps—such as “located,” “replaced,” “adjacent to,” and “access”—and check spelling and collocations so the reader can understand each feature without guessing.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

There are attempts to connect ideas in longer sentences, for example, “The second change is that they add new big bus station near to the hospital since the first one is very short.” However, sentence structures are often faulty, and errors in agreement, articles, tense, and punctuation frequently affect clarity. The opening, “This map represent two plan,” has incorrect subject–verb agreement and plural forms; “there are new extra ordinary change” also has agreement and article problems. Tense shifts between past and present when describing the maps, and several sentences run together without clear punctuation. Practise accurate simple past forms for the 2007 and 2010 layouts, then combine them with controlled clauses using “while” or “whereas.”
