Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You identify the two years and mention several genuine changes, including the roundabouts, the bus station, and the separate staff and public car parks. However, the account only partially reports the map information: the 2010 bus station is west of Hospital Road, and the new public car park is east of Ring Road, but these locations are described imprecisely. The claim that buses were parked along the road and caused heavy traffic is not shown by the maps; the 2007 symbols indicate bus stops, not parked buses or traffic levels. The overview also focuses on a “highly change” without clearly summarising the main reorganisation. Describe the access changes accurately and distinguish visible features from assumptions.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a basic structure, moving from an introduction and overview to separate descriptions of 2007 and 2010. This gives the reader some sense of the comparison, and “To commence with” and “Moreover” attempt to signal progression. However, the overview repeats details rather than clearly grouping the main changes, and the body paragraphs do not consistently organise features by location or by what changed. Several sentences are difficult to follow, such as “The map is changed in first map there is a straight path…” Repeated references to “the map” and unclear links between ideas weaken progression. Use a concise overview, then compare the road, bus facilities, and car parks in a deliberate order.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some relevant map vocabulary, including “roundabout,” “bus station,” “car park,” and “eastern side,” so the reader can recognise the main subject. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate, sometimes making the description unclear. For example, “round shape about” is not a suitable term for a roundabout, and “the bus are parked” misrepresents bus stops. Spelling errors such as “thw,” “chaned,” and “sothern” are also noticeable. Aim for precise location and change vocabulary, and check spelling carefully. Replacing informal or vague phrases with standard map-description language would make the account clearer and more appropriate.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

The response attempts both simple statements and longer sentences, but grammatical control is weak and errors frequently make relationships between features difficult to understand. For example, “The given two maps illustrates” has subject–verb disagreement, while “there is a two round shape about” has problems with the article, number, and sentence structure. Tense and agreement are also inconsistent in “the bus are parked” and “the people parked there vehicles.” Several sentences run together or lack clear punctuation, particularly the overview sentence beginning “There in no bus station.” Practise accurate basic sentence patterns first, especially plural subjects, articles, and past-tense descriptions, then add longer comparisons with clear punctuation.
