Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
You identify several important changes, including the separation of the staff and public parking, the addition of a bus station and two roundabouts, and the removal of the bus stops. Your overview also notes that the main roads remain, which helps address the overall transformation. Some details, however, are unclear or incomplete: the public car park’s new position east of the Ring Road is not mentioned, and the bus station’s connections to the roundabouts are not described. The statement that the parking areas “were divided” could be more precise by explaining that the existing car park became staff-only and a separate public car park was added. This covers the main task features, but fuller and clearer reporting would strengthen the response.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, an overview, and details about the parking, bus facilities, roundabouts and roads. Linking expressions such as “Moreover,” “In addition” and “However” help signal relationships between points. The progression is generally understandable, although the details are grouped somewhat loosely: the paragraph moves between parking, the bus station, roundabouts and bus stops without a clear spatial or chronological sequence. “However” also suggests a contrast that is not fully developed in the following sentence. Organising the body by comparing the 2007 and 2010 transport facilities, then describing the unchanged roads, would make the progression more controlled and cohesion less dependent on linking words.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use relevant vocabulary for describing maps, including “parking areas,” “bus station,” “roundabouts,” “eastern part” and “southern part.” This gives you enough range to communicate the main changes, but several word-choice and spelling problems reduce precision. “Infrastructures” is not a natural choice here; “facilities” or “features” would fit better. “Some major changes are done” is also an awkward collocation, and “opposite side” does not clearly express the bus station’s position west of Hospital Road. Spelling slips such as “cahnges,” “incule” and “wstern” are noticeable. Aim for accurate map-specific phrases such as “located to the west of” and “was converted into a staff car park.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt a mix of simple and more complex sentences, including clauses introduced by “while” and “which,” and most of the meaning remains understandable. However, some grammatical errors recur. For example, “some major changes are done” uses an unsuitable tense and passive form for a completed past change; “were divided in 2010” should be “were separated by 2010” or a more precise construction. In “Bus station is located … and it located,” the article is missing and the second clause lacks an auxiliary verb. The sentence beginning “However” also needs clearer punctuation and article use around “ring road” and “city road.” More consistent past-tense reporting and careful checking of articles and complete clauses would improve accuracy.
