Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5

You identify several relevant changes, including the conversion of the shared car park into a staff car park, the addition of a bus station, and the introduction of roundabouts. However, the response does not give a clear overview of the main changes, and some details are inaccurate or unclear. For example, the 2010 map shows a new public car park east of the Ring Road, which is not mentioned; the bus station is west of Hospital Road, while the staff car park is east of it. The statement that there are “only the staff car park” overlooks the new public facility. To make the summary more complete, state the overall transformation first, then accurately describe the road junctions, parking and bus arrangements.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0

The response includes several relevant comparisons and uses linking expressions such as “moreover” and “on the other hand.” However, the information is presented as one long, loosely connected sequence, so the reader has difficulty following the changes. Ideas are repeated: the bus station and roundabouts are described more than once, while the new public car park is omitted. Some connections are also unclear, as in “there are roundabout taken to reach to the city hospital.” Organise the response into a brief overview and separate details about road access and transport/parking. Use clear references and connectors to show which features belong to 2007 and which to 2010.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some task-relevant vocabulary, including “car park,” “bus station,” “bus stop,” “Hospital Road” and “roundabout,” which allows the reader to recognise the main subject. However, the range is limited and several word choices or spellings make the description difficult to interpret, such as “way to assess” for access and “straight away” for the direct road connection. There are also repeated phrases such as “there are” and “moreover,” and errors including “hospit,” “raod” and “whoich.” Aim for precise map language and accurate spelling, using terms such as “access,” “located,” “replaced” and “connected” to describe the changes.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

The response attempts to compare the two years and to join ideas in longer sentences, but grammatical control is weak and errors frequently obscure relationships between features. For example, “the maps illustrates” has subject–verb disagreement, while “there are city hospital in 2007 have” combines incompatible sentence patterns. Tense and agreement are inconsistent in phrases such as “there were no bus station” and “there are roundabout.” Sentence boundaries and punctuation are also poorly controlled, with several ideas joined into a single run-on sentence. Practise writing short, complete comparison sentences first, then add accurate clauses—for example, “In 2010, roundabouts were added at both ends of Hospital Road.”
