Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You identify the two years and mention several relevant changes, including the addition of a bus station, a public car park and roundabouts by 2010. However, the comparison is only partly developed: the overview says there were “less facilities” in 2007, but does not clearly summarise the main transformation in road and transport access. Some details are inaccurate or unclear. For example, the 2007 bus stops were on both sides of Hospital Road, not only on the east, and the 2010 public car park was east of Ring Road, rather than simply “after” the hospital. The two roundabouts were at the Hospital Road junctions with Ring Road and City Road. Report these locations precisely and explain that the bus stops were replaced by a bus station.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, an overview, and separate paragraphs for 2007 and 2010. This gives the reader a basic route through the information, and sequencing words such as “Overall,” “Initially,” and “Secondly” help signal the stages. However, the progression within paragraphs is sometimes difficult to follow because several features are joined in long, loosely connected sentences. For instance, the 2007 description moves from the Ring Road to bus stops, parking and City Road without clear sentence boundaries. “On the other side” is also an imprecise transition between years. Use shorter sentences and organise each year’s details by location or by change, with clear links such as “By contrast” and “In addition.”
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use relevant map vocabulary, including “Ring Road,” “bus station,” “public car park,” and “roundabout,” so the reader can identify the main features. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate or repetitive. “Facilities” is repeated and is not the clearest term for describing road-access features; “features” or “transport facilities” would be more suitable. Phrases such as “on first of city hospital” and “on last” make locations difficult to interpret, while “parking place” is less natural than “car park.” Spelling errors, including “facillities,” “Intially,” and “hospitl,” also reduce accuracy. Aim for precise directional language and check spelling before submitting.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt to combine information using clauses, and the basic meaning is often recoverable. However, sentence structures are limited, and attempts to link several ideas frequently produce faulty sentences. For example, “there were ring road on the top of city hospital there were bus stop” lacks clear sentence boundaries and has problems with articles and agreement. “The bus station is also been established” uses an incorrect verb form, while “there were also found” does not form a clear grammatical construction. Tense use also shifts between past and present when describing the 2010 map. Use consistent past-tense descriptions and build accurate simple sentences first, then add subordinate clauses. Check articles, singular/plural agreement, and punctuation.
